New Beginnings

hey everyone!

let’s start with lighter stuff! last week we moved into our new apartment, i finally found my old laptop, and now im able to get the blog and site back up and running! ive been spending a lot of time unpacking, reading, and sleeping to be honest; unpacking is tiring! I started reading a new book called Every Exquisite Thing by Laura Steven. i think im on chapter four and it’s really good so far! i tend to lean towards those darker novels like the above. i read A House of Salt and Sorrow last year and it was a really good read! i recently bought the second book and i honestly cannot wait to read it…once i find it in the packed stuff lol.

i found all my watercolor painting stuff and my junk journal bag so i started doing that again! I did a whole page in my junk journal and i’ve been using my iPad for some digital watercolor while my desk has been out of commission (there is packing stuff all over it in the office)

a little sadder, but i’ve really been struggling with my depression since moving into the apartment, if i’m being honest. i’m taking my medicine and eating properly and sleeping when i can, but i’m still so tired all the time and have been a bit depressed. i definitely grew used to being around my friends all the time and i think being away from them is hurting a little bit, but i’m doing the best i can and that’s all i can ask of myself.

i’ve been cooking in the new kitchen a bunch (it’s the first room i completely unpacked lol) and i have a bunch of new recipes to try out and once they are down pat i’ll post them here so that anyone who wants to try them can!

i start therapy tomorrow so that’s nice; it’s with my old therapist and im really looking forward to it. i believe therapy is very important for people with history such as i have and mental illness. having someone completely separated from the situation who is able to listen and can give unbiased professional opinions and help is really beneficial, i’ve found.

my OCD is hard to deal with right now because of the move. i struggle with owning things and having material goods, so seeing that i own as much stuff as i do and not having realized it is really hard for me. i keep fighting the urge to just get rid of everything i own that i haven’t unpacked yet because i’ve gone so long without it already but, as my partner has reminded me, my things are things that at one point i wanted so bad that i spent good money on them; in the end, if i want to get rid of stuff then i can, but i need to sort through it all first and truly decide if i want to get rid of it because of my actually not wanting it anymore instead of letting my insecurities and fears about owning things take over and just mass selling or throwing things away.

alright no more heavy stuff - i leave you all for now but i will try to post later this week and i will upload some recipes soon! keep an eye out for some lemon ricotta waffle batter and some blueberry jam!

i am so happy you’re here with me and i hope everyone has lovely days! until next time!
